Nahid Islam Visits Mitford Hospital to See Victims of Attack on Puja Mandap
On Friday evening, October 11, a robbery took place near the Puja Mandap in Tanti Bazar, Dhaka. The attackers hurled a bottle resembling a petrol bomb, which was later recovered by the police without exploding. Although the bottle did not detonate, several individuals were injured in a stabbing incident. The police have arrested three suspects, identified as Akash (23), Hridoy (23), and Jibon (19), in connection with the attack.
Following the incident, ICT, Telecom, and Information and Broadcasting Advisor, Md. Nahid Islam, visited Mitford Hospital at night to meet the injured victims.
During his visit, he directed the hospital staff to provide the best possible medical care to the victims, assuring that all medical expenses would be covered. He also emphasized that the perpetrators would be apprehended swiftly and brought to justice.
Nahid Islam further stated, "The attackers are attempting sabotage, but we will not allow them to succeed. Whoever is responsible for this heinous act will face exemplary punishment as soon as possible." He reiterated his commitment to covering the medical costs for the injured and vowed to set a strong precedent to deter such acts in the future.
Earlier, Nahid Islam had inspected the Puja Mandap in Tanti Bazar. According to reports, the assailant had been caught by local residents after throwing the bottle, but managed to escape after stabbing several people. The injured were immediately admitted to Mitford Hospital, where they are receiving treatment.
